Circulents- The new consumers

The purpose of this course is to gain wider knowledge on how the actions of consumers affect climate, environment, and people. When we know better, we can do better, and in this course, you are invited to be part of the transition towards a smarter world – where we’re not only consumers, but circulents!

This is a digital course with neither physical nor online meetings, which gives you the freedom to fit the course to your everyday life. During eight exciting weeks this spring, we will highlight challenges and opportunities and share practical tips on how you can become a more conscious consumer!

Time requirements

In each part there is a wide collection of material and reports which makes it difficult to determine the exact amount of time you need to complete the course. We estimate that about 4 hours for each part should be enough to go through the presentation and answer the accompanying questions.

The setup
  • Course material, Interactive presentation x 4 (one for each part)
  • Discussion questions
  • Discussion forum

The course consists of interactive presentation material with a mix of short videos, links to find further information and publications, and questions for discussion. On our online platform you will find the published course material. This is also where you publish your assignments and can discuss the themes with your fellow course mates. After completing the course, you will receive a certificate.

Accompanying the four course parts are in-depth discussion questions which lay the foundation for your assignment. For each part there is one assignment, with four questions to guide you in your learning. You are also required to reply to at least two of your fellow course mates’ assignments, with the purpose to create discussion and for you to get as much as possible out of the course. To receive your certificate, all four assignments and your responses to your course mates’ assignments have to be completed before the last day of the course. There will be no exams or grades, as we’d rather focus on discussion and reflection as a tool for learning.

Every other Monday a new part will be published on the online platform, which you then have access to throughout the course. You will need access to a computer and internet. If you have any questions about the application, the set up or anything else concerning the course you are welcome to send an email to the course administrator Rebecka at
